ABOUT ME
Hi, I’m Joe, the owner of Token of the Forest. I am a self taught woodworker who has always dreamed of having my own business. In March 2021, I took the leap to quit my full-time job and with a dose of optimism set up a business during lockdown. It has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
I have always been conscious of the effect businesses can have on our planet and this has inspired me to transform recycled materials, hence why my focus so far has been creating furniture out of disused barrels. However, I am constantly experimenting with other supplies such as scaffold boards and cable reels as I like to give older materials a new lease of life.
Each piece is unique and handmade to order and therefore there is always opportunity to customise products. For example, I use both whiskey and wine barrels which, when sanded down, have different finishes and colour, check out my products page for some examples. A lot of my products can also be adjusted in height, depth and width to make it a comfortable fit for every individual.

Wine barrels have a lighter finish, where as whiskey barrels have more of a rustic oak look.
